In addition to the €50 billion in military aid to Ukraine, EU Ambassadors approved €5 billion for the purchase of necessary military equipment.
This is stated in the "X" network of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU 2024.
It is noted that the corresponding decision to increase the European Peace Facility, which finances the supply of weapons to Ukraine, by €5 billion was supported by the EU permanent representatives on March 13.
"EU Ambassadors agreed in principle on a reform of the European Peace Facility, to support Ukraine with €5 billion budget for 2024," the statement said.
The page added that the European Union expressed its determination to continue to provide lasting support to Ukraine and to ensure that it receives the necessary military equipment it needs to defend itself.
Earlier, "Apostrophe" reported that EU adopted criminal liability for circumventing sanctions against Russia.
