On Wednesday night, May 7, the enemy carried out a massive drone attack on Kyiv and the region. The attack killed two residents of the capital and injured 8.
This was announced by Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko.
"The number of victims in the capital has increased to 8. Another woman was hospitalized. Three children were previously hospitalized. Thus, four victims have been hospitalized so far. Four were treated on the spot by doctors. Two residents of the capital died as a result of the enemy attack," he said.
According to the State Emergency Service, the Sviatoshynskyi, Solomyanskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Dniprovskyi districts were affected by the shelling of Kyiv.
In the Svyatoshynskyi district, debris hit a 9-story residential building. Apartments on the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th floors caught fire. The fire was extinguished on an area of 100 sq. m.
In the Solomyansky district of the capital, the wreckage of a UAV fell into an open area.
A drone crashed into a multi-story residential building in the Dnipro district of the city. As a result, the ceiling on the 29th and 30th floors partially collapsed. There were no fires or injuries.
In the Shevchenkivskyi district, drone debris fell on a 5-story residential building. Apartments on the 3rd and 5th floors caught fire. During the firefighting efforts, the bodies of 2 people were discovered.
In the Kyiv region, as a result of an enemy attack, a fire broke out and structures were destroyed on the 2nd floor of a 10-story residential building in one of the residential complexes in the village of Sofiivska Borshchahivka (Buchansky district). No victims or injured were found at the scene.
