Fugitive President Viktor Yanukovych wants to personally take part in court hearings regarding the shootings during the Revolution of Dignity in 2014. Thus, precautionary measures will be chosen.
According to Vitaliy Serdyuk, the official lawyer of Viktor Yanukovych, his client himself expressed the desire and asked for permission of the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv to participate in the hearings. He will join the process via video link. Besides, Yanukovych's defense demands that their public witnesses and victims be heard allowed to testify.
The court hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, December 9. The Prosecutor General's Office demands an arrest for Yanukovych. Previously, the Kyiv Court of Appeal lifted Yanukovych’s arrest in absentia. Thus, it will be the second trial.
