"We are watching very carefully": Blinken commented on Russia's actions near the Ukrainian border

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the concentration of Russian troops on the Ukrainian-Russian border exceeded the number of Russian forces there back in 2014. With this, in an interview with CBS, Blinken stressed that Washington is watching the withdrawal of Russia’s troops very closely.

"I can't tell you that we know-- Mr. Putin's intentions. There are any number of things that he could do or-- or-- or choose not to do. What we have seen in-- the last few days is apparently a decision to pull back some of those forces and we've seen some of them in fact start to pull back.," Blinken said.

However, when asked whether it has been verified that Russian troops are pulling back, Blinked said, “We're watching that very, very carefully.”

Thus, the U.S. State Secretary has assured that the U.S. is closely monitoring the situation on the Ukrainian-Russian border.
