The meeting of Volodymyr Zelensky and Joe Biden in the United States was postponed to September 1 at the request of the American side.
This was reported by Ukrainska Pravda with a reference to its source in the Office of the President.
It should be recalled that the summit of the two presidents was set to take place on August 31.
As reported earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky late August will arrive in the U.S. at the invitation of his U.S. counterpart Joe Biden.
The initial plan provided that the Presidents of Ukraine and the United States would meet on August 31, as Vladimir Zelensky had other events planned for September 1.
A source in the President's Office confirmed the information regarding the postponement of Zelensky's meeting with Biden and recalled that the Taliban ultimatum expires on August 31.
Insider called August 31 the "worst day of the year" for the two presidents' meeting.
"We are well aware that August 31 is the day when the Taliban ultimatum expires, it would be the worst day of the year, at least for planning a meeting of the two presidents, due to the circumstances that do not depend on us. The visit of Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett was also postponed due to the events in Afghanistan. The visit of the President of Ukraine at the request of the American side is also postponed," the source said in a comment to journalists.
