At a meeting with American evangelical pastor Mark Burns, during which they discussed important issues of assistance to Ukraine and protection of religious freedoms, the People's Deputy from the Servant of the People party, deputy head of the group on interparliamentary relations with the USA, Marian Zablotsky, raised concerns about the F-35 for our country.
The politician announced this on his Facebook page.
Zablotsky said that he managed to talk to the pastor over dinner the day before. And these were deep spiritual and emotional conversations.
"During dinner, I also raised the topic of Ukraine's defense capabilities. In particular, I gave an example that Egypt at one time had the opportunity to receive over a thousand tanks from the United States - and emphasized that for us this is also a matter of survival. Ideally - also the F-35. I recalled Donald Trump's interview, where he mentioned such a prospect, and showed a video with our military thanking us for the first-ever deliveries of Javelins in 2018. I am infinitely grateful to Pastor Burns for voicing these theses in his public statement after the trip," the People's Deputy noted.
Zablotsky also added that during the meeting itself he emphasized simple facts.
"First, the countries that support Ukraine are mostly Christian democracies. In contrast, the states that sided with the aggressor — Iran, North Korea, Cuba — are tyrannical regimes, far from both democracy and Christian values. Pastor Burns understands perfectly well that our struggle is a confrontation with evil, and we are waging it with God's help on our side. Secondly, he raised the issue of lobbyists who are attracted by the Russian church. He showed how the same individuals are also working for authoritarian Venezuela," the politician said, noting that one of the key topics was the prospect of peace.
We will remind, the personal spiritual advisor of the leader of the United States Donald Trump , Mark Burns, having visited Ukraine , conveyed to him the request of the Ukrainian soldiers regarding the need to provide weapons. And he noted that the servicemen do not need money, they need weapons to defend the country. He said that the soldiers on the front line are not asking for money, but are asking for 1,000 tanks, 300 F-35s, and anti-aircraft weapons.
