US President Donald Trump said that Russia may have carried out a ballistic attack on Sumy by mistake.
The US president's words were quoted by American media.
"I think it was terrible. I was told they made a mistake. But I think it's a terrible thing. I think the whole war is terrible," he said.
At the same time, Trump believes that Russia could simply have made mistakes.
" They made a mistake, I believe it was... Look, ask them. This is Biden's war, this is not my war," he said.
Ukrainian journalist Ostap Yarysh also recalled the statements of Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US Special Representative Kyle Kellogg.
“The United States expresses its deepest condolences to the victims of the horrific Russian missile attack on Sumy. This is a tragic reminder of why President Trump is spending so much time and effort to end this war and achieve a lasting peace,” Rubir said.
"The attack by Russian forces on Palm Sunday on civilian targets in Sumy crosses any line of decency. As a former military commander, I understand targeting, and it is wrong. That is why President Trump is working hard to end this war," Kellogg said.
We previously reported that among those killed in Sumy was former head of justice Lyudmila Vashchenko .
