Why Trump and Witkoff's actions regarding Putin and Ukraine are completely unacceptable — a journalist's explanation

Стив Уиткофф

Ukrainian journalist Mykhailo Tkach considers the actions of US President Donald Trump and his special envoy Steve Witkoff towards Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and Ukraine unacceptable. And currently there is only one country in the world that is capable of stopping Russia, but it is not the USA.

He wrote about this on his Facebook page.

Sorry we are

In the history of mankind, there are, unfortunately, many examples when human life (even hundreds of thousands of lives) was worth nothing in the face of the power of painful and therefore no less criminal beliefs.

Even the al-Qaeda terrorists were apparently as sure of their rightness as, I think, they were sure that their criminal actions were provoked.

But no one in their right mind would have thought to side with the inhumans who believed they had the right to kill people. Of course, except for the inhumans themselves. I don't want to believe that it was because they didn't have rare earth metals, gas, oil, fertilizers, and they weren't close to China.

And Hitler's murderer could have told Special Envoy Witkoff a lot over a cup of tea about historical injustice, the "provocation" of the Entente, and the protection of the German-speaking population. "This peace agreement concerns five countries," Mr. Witkoff could have said after returning from negotiations in Washington.

Logic and national interests can be anything, but if you take the lives of 600 children, you are a terrorist, a murderer, and an executioner.

If you occupied the territory of another state, you are a war criminal.

And only a trial, a legal sentence, and imprisonment can be a just peace in the end.

1,200 tortured, shot dead on the streets of unarmed civilians in the Buchansky district alone.

No one in the world can be above the law. But if this happened. And there is a person who, thanks to the weakness of individual world leaders, is right now establishing the right to crime and the rule of violence. When the victim is declared guilty. And not elsewhere - in the Oval Office. And the occupier is offered a hand in the Kremlin, where a few days before the decision to strike Kryvyi Rih was made. Then, obviously, this world will be destroyed by the words and actions of those who declared and offered.

This fact hardly needs to be stated yet. But.

There is only one country in the world that can stop Russia. And as recent events show, it is not the United States at the moment.

As a reminder, US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff called the talks with the Russian dictator "compelling." According to him, Putin asked him to ensure "permanent peace," which, he said, "took us some time to get to." The key to a comprehensive agreement, according to Witkoff, revolves around "five territories."

Previously, "Apostrophe" wrote about why Trump refused to sell Patriot to Ukraine.
