Ukrainian financier and blogger Serhiy Fursa believes that US President Donald Trump did not pick up the idea of selling Patriot to Ukraine because special envoy Steve Witkoff had a very successful visit to Russia, where he was impressed by the ideas of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
Fursa wrote about this on his Facebook page.
"And now it became clear why he suddenly started attacking Zelensky and Biden again, accusing Ukraine of Russia attacking Ukraine. Apparently, he talked to his friend-resolver Witkoff, who had a very good time with Putin. And now he tells everyone that they are closer than ever, that there will soon be a super duper partnership. And also that there are some ideas of Putin that went down well with Witkoff. And about the 5 Ukrainian regions, and even about NATO's 5th article. The latter should get on the nerves not only of Ukrainians, but also of the Baltic countries. This Witkoff sang something so sweetly to his friend Trump that he even forgot that he was the best deal maker in the world and did not pick up the idea of selling weapons to Ukraine for a couple of tens of billions of dollars. Which, probably, surprised American weapons manufacturers, who were usually very Republicans," the blogger believes.
Fursa is convinced that the attack on Zelensky and the refusal to discuss the sale of missiles can only indicate that Trump is ready to pressure Ukraine to accept Putin's plan.
As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is ready to buy ten Patriot air defense systems from the United States for $15 billion.
As Apostrophe wrote, United States President Donald Trump accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and former US leader Joe Biden of "doing a terrible job" that led to the start of hostilities.
