A Ukrainian diplomat predicts that Germany may still provide Ukraine with Taurus missiles - all that is needed is political consent and "it is imminent."
This was stated in an interview with "Apostrophe" by Vadym Prystaiko, former Minister of Foreign Affairs (2019 - 2020), former Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine (2020), Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom (2020-2023).
He emphasizes:
"I think Taurus will do. Taurus is made by the same corporation that makes Storm Shadow and SCALP. Not only are they similar, they are one company that is divided into parts, meaning they need political approval, but technically everything else is already there. And political approval is coming. We see that Merz is creating the basis on which he can make this decision."
The key aspect, in his opinion, is the following:
"But I think the United States, they will understand over time that Europe will achieve everything on its own. It's just at what stage it is, and how you and I will survive it - that's the key question."
