On Saturday, April 19, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin declared an Easter truce.
This is reported by "Apostrophe", referring to the Kremlin's statement.
As noted, the Russian occupation army will cease all hostilities from 6:00 p.m. on April 19 to 12:00 a.m. on April 21, 2025.
"The Easter truce will last until zero hours from Sunday to Monday," Putin said, adding that the course of the truce will show Ukraine's readiness, willingness and ability to resolve the issue peacefully.
At the same time, he reported that Russian troops must be ready to repel "possible ceasefire violations and provocations" from the Ukrainian side.
As Apostrophe wrote, the US previously stated that it expects a response from Russian dictator Vladimir Putin regarding the ceasefire proposal by the end of this week.
US President Donald Trump also said that the US government wants to reach a peace agreement on Ukraine as soon as possible. However, if the parties "complicate" the process, the US will withdraw from the negotiations.
