People's Deputy Volodymyr Moroz passed away

Volodymyr Moroz, People's Deputy of Ukraine of the 9th convocation, has died.

This is reported by "Apostrophe" with reference to the Verkhovna Rada.

"The leadership of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, people's deputies of Ukraine, the leadership and employees of the Parliamentary Staff express their sincere condolences on the untimely death of the people's deputy of Ukraine of the 9th convocation, Volodymyr Moroz," the parliamentary press service said.

Volodymyr Moroz was the chairman of the subcommittee on electricity and electricity transportation of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy and Housing and Communal Services.

Graduated from Kharkiv State Technical University of Construction and Architecture and Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi State Pedagogical University named after Hryhoriy Skovoroda.

Previously, he worked as an electric and gas welder in the shops of the MPM "Ekologiya" TPP and the shop of the Kurakhivskaya GRES.

From 1997 to 2000, he was Deputy Director for Supply of JSC "Donagroservice", Kurakhove.

In 2000-2005, he was the deputy head of the BMU "Kurakhovenergobud".

From 2005 to 2010, he held the position of Deputy Director of Promenergobud LLC.

In 2010-2014, he was the Deputy Chairman of the Kurakhiv City Council for Housing and Communal Services and City Improvement.

He also headed the district branch of the party organization "Petro Poroshenko Bloc "Solidarity".

From 2014 to 2019, he held the position of Head of the Maryinsky District State Administration of Donetsk Oblast.

In 2019, he was elected as a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the 9th convocation from the "Opposition Platform - For Life" party for electoral district No. 59 (Donetsk region). Member of the "Opposition Platform - For Life" party. Member of the faction of the same name. Member of the Committee on Energy and Housing and Communal Services.

Due to the decision of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, all cases regarding false declarations should be closed.

In August 2020, he became one of the initiators of a petition to the Constitutional Court regarding the compliance of a number of provisions of anti-corruption legislation with the Constitution. On October 28, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine published a scandalous decision, according to which liability for false declarations and electronic declarations in particular is abolished.

In the spring, he left the OPZH faction and joined the newly formed deputy group "Revival of Ukraine".

He was also one of the authors of the bill (No. 7476-3) on depriving deputies from banned parties of their mandates. In the bill, deputies from the former "OPZZH" propose to leave their recent associates the right to continue working in councils.

At the end of 2022, the Rada channel invited Moroz to speak on the air of the joint telethon "United News". The independent media council believes that "United News" should stop promoting members of the former "OPZZH".

At the end of 2022, he voted for the urban planning reform (#5655), which was implemented in the interests of developers and leveled the influence of citizens on the reconstruction of Ukraine. Due to public opposition, as of early 2024, the president had not signed the bill, and therefore it remains in force.
