Vance named the condition for the US withdrawal from the talks on Ukraine and Russia

US Vice President J.D. Vance announced the condition for the United States to withdraw from the talks between Ukraine and Russia. This came after Marco Rubio and Steve Whitkoff refused to go to London.

Vance is quoted by Clash Report.

"If we do not receive a positive response, we will stop mediation between Russia and Ukraine. We have presented a clear and fair proposal to both Russians and Ukrainians," the politician emphasized.

This happened after Marco Rubio and Steve Whitkoff refused to go to London. The foreign ministers of Britain, the United States, France, Germany and Ukraine postponed a meeting in London, which was scheduled to take place today. The talks will continue at the level of officials.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio canceled a trip to London, where he was supposed to meet with Ukrainian and European delegations, after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine would not recognize Crimea as Russian territory , as this contradicts the Constitution of Ukraine.

Instead of Rubio, US special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg will take part in the talks. Meanwhile, State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce stressed that Rubio's refusal to participate in the talks was due to "logistical problems."

Meanwhile, the media indicate that the recognition of Crimea as Russian territory was the cornerstone of President Trump's "final offer" for a peaceful settlement, otherwise the US threatened to withdraw from the negotiations.

As a reminder, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin proposed to stop hostilities in Ukraine along the current front line, which for the first time became an official signal of readiness to abandon his maximum demands in order to end the war.
