Ukraine initiated an emergency meeting of the Ukraine-NATO commission due to Russia's actions

On Tuesday, April 13, the NATO Secretary-General Mr. Jens Stoltenberg will meet the Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Mr. Dmytro Kuleba, at NATO Headquarters. Afterward, the Foreign Minister will also take part in an emergency meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission. The corresponding announcement was published on the official NATO website.

The meeting will be held on the basis of Article 15 of the UN Charter on Special Partnership between Ukraine and NATO, which provides for the possibility of applying for the crisis advisory mechanism if Ukraine sees a direct threat to its territorial integrity, political independence or security. This article was last activated in 2018 after Russia's attack on Ukrainian warships in the Black Sea near the Kerch Strait.

"The Foreign Minister of Ukraine and NATO members will discuss the aggravation of the security situation by the Russian Federation along the Russian-Ukrainian border and in the temporarily occupied Crimea, effective ways for the North Atlantic Alliance to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
