'Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine': Brussels hosts a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Commission

The Ukraine-NATO Commission meeting focused on Russia’s continued military build-up begins in Brussels. The meeting is chaired by the NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg.

This was stated in the Apostrophe News issue on Apostrophe TV.

Instead of Dmitry Kuleba, Ukrainian MFA, Ukraine is represented by Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishina.

The Secretary-General and the Deputy Prime Minister held a joint press point at NATO headquarters. Stoltenberg called Ukraine “a valued and long-standing partner” with the right to choose its own path. According to him,the meeting is a reminder for Ukraine that the Alliance supports Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Mr Stoltenberg called the NATO-Ukraine Commission an opportunity to exchange assessments on the situation; to express Allies' strong support for Ukraine; and to coordinate ahead of diplomatic engagements with Moscow.

Stefanishina, in turn, stressed that the NATO-Ukraine Commission, which takes place simultaneously with the negotiations between the United States and Russia, means that the Alliance adheres to the principle of "nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine".’
