The EU said that they are not going to evacuate their diplomats and their families from Ukraine now, following the example of the United States and the United Kingdom. At the moment, there is no reason to take such steps. First, we need to wait for the logical conclusion of negotiations with Russia.
This was stated by the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell, the EU website reports.
When asked whether the evacuation of American and British diplomats means that the war is very close, Borell answered there is no reason for such measures.
“Well, Secretary Blinken will explain us the reasons of this announcement. We are not going to do the same thing, because we do not know any specific reasons. But Secretary Blinken will inform us and I do not think we have to dramatise. As far as the negotiations are going on - and they are going on - I do not think that we have to leave Ukraine. But maybe Secretary Blinken has more information that he will share with us,” Borrell has stated.
At the same time, he stated that at the moment there is no decision on whether European personnel and their families will stay in Ukraine, until Secretary Blinken gives the information that justifies his move.
Meanwhile, Vesti.ua reports in its Telegram channel that France also evacuates its diplomats and their families from Ukraine. The information has not been confirmed yet.
In addition, the Telegram channel KlymenkoTime reports that Australia has also already begun evacuating its diplomatic mission from the territory of Ukraine.
