Ukrainian developers have launched the production of Western military equipment analogues, including M113 armored vehicles - "Lys", MaxxPro - "Sikach" and Humvee - "Kharakternyk".
This was announced by Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (GUR), during a national TV marathon.
"This is a truly amazing story when we managed to restore the system on the spot without losing combat capabilities, using available materials or equipment that was no longer functional. Or by making our own parts, in particular, hulls, other separate units. Or even using outdated elements from Soviet equipment," Yusov noted.
He emphasized that all this is already working and is being used on the battlefield by the Ukrainian military.
The GUR representative added that domestic equipment is not just prototypes, as they all proved their effectiveness on the battlefield, in particular, during the defense operation and subsequent cover for the withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from Avdiivka, Donetsk Region.
In addition, Yusov informed that the analog of the basic model of the American International MaxxPro armored personnel carrier (MRAP) "Sikach" and the analog of the American all-wheel drive military vehicle HMMWV (Humvee) "Kharakternyk" were involved in the operation of destroying Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group on the eastern direction of the front.
Earlier we told what Ukraine can produce in mass quantities and what has been lost forever.
