Russian offensive is "running out of steam": situation in the Avdiivka direction

In the Avdiivka direction, the Russian offensive is gradually subsiding. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are repelling enemy attacks. Work on the construction of fortifications is ongoing. A strategic defense is being built to a considerable depth.

Anatoliy Nikitin, junior sergeant of the UAV Battalion of the 3rd AFU Assault Brigade, told about this on the air of Apostrophe TV.

According to him, the enemy's attacks are being repelled, but Russians have a significant numerical advantage and the assaults continue.

The military said that the enemy is trying to attack in a combined manner: it has increased its tank component and is attacking with armored groups - a tank and 3-4 armored personnel carriers.

"They are trying to get closer to our fortifications. In the attacks, half of the armored group is lost, and the rest either runs away or hides in the terrain and launches an attack," he noted.

According to Nikitin, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are countering with UAVs. A lot of reconnaissance drones are used on both sides. Since summer is the best time for drones, their use will increase. Russians are actively countering drones with mobile electronic warfare devices that are not installed on the equipment, but the Ukrainian army is finding opportunities to attack.

"Now the enemy does not have such a powerful group that initially entered Avdiivka. The offensive is gradually subsiding," the military summarized.

Earlier, "Apostrophe" reported that Ukrainian troops continue to hold the front line while Russians have a partial success in advancing near Orlivka and Tonenke.
