Three TU-95s were damaged: new details of the attack on Russian airfields on April 5

The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, with the support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, conducted an operation, striking three Russian airfields: Kursk, Engels and Yeysk on Friday, April 5.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing sources in the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

The strikes on the airfields occurred at the time of a large-scale drone attack. The attack at Engels-2 airfield seriously damaged at least three Tu-95MS strategic bombers. The explosions killed seven Russian servicemen, probably including the pilots of the bombers.

In addition, Ukrainian drones attacked a military airfield in the city of Yeysk. The strikes killed at least four Russian servicemen and completely burned down two Su-25 fighters.

An airfield in Kursk was also attacked, but details of the attack have not yet been disclosed.

Russian authorities confirmed the drone attack and said that 53 drones were shot down in different regions of the country, including Morozovsk, Rostov Region, Yeysk, Krasnodar Krai, and Engels, Saratov Region.
