"74 wounded, including children": Russians launch missile strike on central Sumy

As a result of a Russian strike on the city center of Sumy on March 24, 74 people were injured, including 14 children.

Such data was provided by the head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak.

According to the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office, at around 2:00 p.m., the Russians launched a missile strike on a densely populated residential area of the city. Emergency services, including the State Emergency Service and an ambulance, are currently at the scene.


The city's infrastructure facilities, including children's hospitals, were also attacked.

The State Emergency Service clarified that the enemy attack also partially destroyed the school building. 40 children and 16 adults were evacuated from there.

After the impact, gas supply is absent in nine houses, hot water and heating in 18, and cold water in six.

"Today, 74 people were injured as a result of the Russian strike on Sumy, including 14 children. Residential buildings and a school were damaged. The intensity of rocket attacks is not decreasing. This is what the Russian army really is: it targets civilians and children," Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets commented on the attack.

The number of injured is increasing, previously it was known about 65 injured.

Upd: As of 19:26, the number of victims of the missile strike on Sumy has increased to 88, including 17 children.
