Historian and People's Deputy Volodymyr Viatrovych is convinced that Ukraine has the same "trump cards" both in war and in negotiations. Their essence lies in the readiness of society to fight and the ability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to conduct combat operations.
Viatrovych writes about this, referring to the results of a recent KIIS survey.
According to the People's Deputy, these results demonstrate an important indicator - the willingness of society to fight.
"Some of the comments were about the fact that the indicated figure means nothing, because the survey was conducted "not in the trenches." Of course, war is understood most clearly by those who take direct part in hostilities. But the ability of society to continue it is also determined by those who work in the rear. A war can be lost not at the front - this happened in the First World War with Russia and Germany," Viatrovych emphasizes.
And the enemy understands this perfectly well, so he intensifies terror against civilians: "... by organizing a nightly "blitz" with shaheeds and rockets. He spends significant resources on this and does not achieve the desired result - Ukrainians do not cry out and shout that they are ready to stop the war under any conditions, if only the terror would stop."
This is also demonstrated by the figure given in the survey - 82% of those surveyed said they were in favor of continuing the fight without US assistance.
"It is important for us, for the self-awareness of our potential to resist the 11th year of war, " Viatrovych comments. " It is important for those who observe the war from the outside (in particular the US and the EU) and decide whether to help us."
In addition, he adds that the indicator coincides with the recently announced conclusion of American intelligence - "Ukrainians will fight with their bare hands if they are not satisfied with the results of the end of the war."
In this context, let us recall that the Director of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), John Ratcliffe, stated his belief that the Ukrainian military would fight even with their bare hands if the terms of negotiations with the Russian Federation did not suit them.
When asked by Republican Senator Jerry Moran about the strategic risks to the United States in the event of a continued war between Russia and Ukraine, Ratcliffe replied:
"But as far as the Ukrainian resistance is concerned, the Ukrainian people and army have been underestimated for several years. I am convinced, based on my reflections and observations from an intelligence perspective, that they will fight with their bare hands if they have to, if they do not have conditions acceptable for a lasting peace."
As a result, People's Deputy Volodymyr Viatrovych emphasizes in his post:
"The readiness of society to fight, as well as the ability of the armed forces to conduct effective combat operations, are now our key arguments ("trump cards") both in the war and in the ongoing negotiations. Therefore, Russia is trying to convince the world and ourselves that all "Ukrainians are tired" and are ready for anything to stop "all this"."
