Zaluzhny spoke about the changing role of tanks in war

Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom, former Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine (2021–2024) Valeriy Zaluzhny spoke about the changing role of armored vehicles in wars, which in modern realities is already giving way to drones, precision strikes, and digital intelligence.

He wrote about this on his Telegram channel, commenting on the exhibition at the British Tank Museum.

The former head of the committee noted that in the coming days, Ukrainians will celebrate the anniversary of the liberation of Chernihiv. A city that has become a symbol of invincibility. It was defended by ordinary Ukrainians: volunteers, terrorists, and soldiers with weapons and an indomitable spirit.

"This is exactly the spirit that this exhibition presents today. Here, in the British Tank Museum, you can now see tanks and armored vehicles brought directly from the front in Ukraine," Zaluzhny said.

He noted that over a hundred years ago, the first tank appeared on the battlefield. It was a revolution - an armored vehicle capable of breaking through trenches, breaking a stalemate. It was the tank that changed the course of the First World War.

Since 2022, Ukraine has received various assistance from Western partners, including tanks and armored vehicles. They have powerful armor and have saved more than one life of a Ukrainian military "at zero". He expressed gratitude for such assistance. However, he noted that the war has shown something else: the most powerful armored vehicles are losing their effectiveness in the face of the latest challenges - drones, precision strikes, digital intelligence.

"Tanks are no longer a guarantee of victory. The world is on the threshold of a new military era," Zaluzhny emphasized.

As a reminder, earlier the former commander-in-chief stated that the old world order had been destroyed.
