A love story emerged in the Sternenko assassination attempt case

A native of the Odessa region, who attacked volunteer and activist Sergei Sternenko on May 1, working on the instructions of the Russian FSB, indirectly spoke about a romantic story with a Russian curator.

This became known during a hearing in the Shevchenko District Court of Kyiv.

The suspect stated at the hearing that she was not familiar with the volunteer. At the same time, she stated that at first she was intimidated, and later, while corresponding with the Russian curator, she fell in love with him. At the same time, the woman did not even see his photo.

"At first I was intimidated, and then I fell in love with this person... We communicated on Viber, I didn't see his photo. I fell in love with his words," the person involved in the case said.

As is known, on May 2, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure for the suspect - detention without bail. The woman pleaded guilty and stated that she was ready to cooperate with the investigation.

The attacker's lawyer, Anatoliy Yurchenko, reported that the citizen allegedly did not know that she was working for Russia, since representatives of the special services posed as SBU officers and convinced them that Sternenko allegedly worked for the Russian special services and that "arrivals in Kyiv" allegedly occurred because of him. There was a need to eliminate him.

As "Apostrophe" wrote, the attacker was born in 1979. The woman rented housing in the capital's elite residential complex, where Sternenko lives, and carried out visual surveillance of him.

It is known that the woman received money from Russian special services to attack her bank accounts.

We previously reported that a woman who tried to kill volunteer and activist Serhiy Sternenko was suspected . The SBU described step-by-step how the attacker acted.
