The destruction of Russian long-range radar detection aircraft "A-50" had a significant impact on Russia's tactics - during a massive attack on Ukraine on the night of March 21, they chose one target, which became Kyiv, in order to detect the location of Ukrainian Air Defense systems.
A military expert, colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in reserve, Roman Svitan told about this on the air of "Apostrophe TV".
"Routing and controlling the flight of missiles without the A-50 is difficult. Therefore, they chose one point - the capital, using "star" method [when the missiles fly from four sides or from six sides at once] from different bearings (azimuths), in order to reveal our Air Defense system," he commented, adding that Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile systems worked out perfectly, the directions and settings were correctly located, as well as the interception mode. Therefore, even using "star" method Russians did not manage to reach any object.
According to Svitan, in two years the occupants made "air routes" through Kyiv, so now they use them.
Therefore, after the attack on Kyiv, one of Ukraine's tasks will be to reach military facilities in Moscow and the Moscow Region.
"There are a lot of them - from Kapotnya District to Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna," the military expert summarized.
Earlier "Apostrophe" reported that on March 21, Russia launched a massive missile attack on Kyiv.
