A massive missile attack on the center of Chernihiv killed ten people and injured more than 20.

"Unfortunately, the death toll may increase. And this would not have happened if Ukraine had received enough air defense equipment and if the world's determination to counter Russian terror had been sufficient," the President said.
According to the acting Mayor of Chernihiv Oleksandr Lomako, all responsible services are at the scene. Rescuers and medics are working. Hospitals are working in an emergency mode. All communications have been cut off in the area where the missile strike took place to prevent damage. The acting mayor also said that social facilities not related to critical infrastructure were attacked.
As a reminder, air raid warnings were first heard in Kyiv and the region at 8:50 am. Later, residents of Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Cherkasy and some other regions were warned of the danger. Around 9:00 a.m., high-speed air targets were spotted flying across Sumy to Chernihiv Region, which was assumed to be two missiles. In addition, missiles were flying towards Kyiv Region and the capital. At 9 a.m., local residents of Chernihiv reported three loud explosions. After that, a thick column of smoke rose into the air.
