The situation in the Bakhmut direction remains tense as the battle of Chasiv Yar continues, where the enemy is leveling the town to the ground and Ukrainian troops are trying to hold the territory.
Ruslan Muzychuk, a Spokesperson for the National Guard of Ukraine, told Apostrophe TV.
According to him, a quarter of the number of clashes in this area was concentrated in Chasiv Yar. The enemy not only engages its infantry groups, but also assaults with armored vehicles. This also applies to the neighboring villages, including Ivanivske, where the enemy is trying to storm and take fire control of a section of the road.
"The assaults are taking place under dense artillery cover, and the enemy is also dropping a large number of KAB bombs to try to destroy the positions held by our defenders," said the Spokesperson.
He added that in the areas where the enemy is trying to put pressure, the ratio of launched shells is five to one, and sometimes even ten to one. Ruslan Muzychuk emphasized that replenishment of ammunition and the deployment of firepower along the frontline will help to stabilize the situation in areas where the enemy is trying to put pressure.
Earlier, we wrote that Russians need additional resources to capture Chasiv Yar.
