Russian musician Igor Bukayev, who volunteered to fight in early 2025, was eliminated in Ukraine.
This was announced on social media by his wife, singer Zhanna Popova.
Bukayev, who had the call sign "Sirius," signed a contract on January 25. He was killed on the night of February 23, but confirmation has only now emerged. Before that, he was considered missing.
Igor Bukayev is a virtuoso accordion player, saxophonist, arranger, composer, holder of the title "Golden Accordion Player of Russia" and winner of many music competitions. In recent years, he and his wife have lived and worked in Moscow.
“Kobzon has a good addition ,” wrote Ukrainian Armed Forces officer Anatoly Stefan.
