Former sports commentator and political figure Igor Miroshnychenko criticized hockey player Wayne Gretzky, who never condemned the Russian Federation's aggression against the country of his ancestors and supports the intention to turn Canada into the 51st state of the United States.
He announced this on Facebook, commenting on his support during the match of Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals hockey club.
Ovechkin tied Gretzky for the most goals scored in the regular season of the National Hockey League (NHL). Legendary hockey player with Ukrainian roots, Gretzky, came to congratulate him personally.
"Two monsters - fans of Putin and Trump. One created "PutinTeam", supports the war against Ukraine and is proud to be a representative of a scumbag country, while living and earning for over 20 years in America, hated by Muscovites. The other is a traitor to his people at least twice," he said.
The former sportscaster recalled that Gretzky's grandparents emigrated from Ukraine to Canada in the early 20th century. However, in addition to betraying Ukraine, he is now not averse to turning Canada into an American state.
"The first time Wayne Gretzky did this was when he didn't say a word about TerroRussia's invasion of Ukraine... The once great hockey player turned out to be a worthless and vile creature. He is a Trump fan and ardent supporter of his crazy intentions to turn Canada into the 51st state of the USA. Canadians despise the traitor and have repeatedly desecrated his famous sculpture near Rogers Arena in Edmonton," he noted.
Miroshnichenko noted that now these two characters Ovechkin and Gretzky "merged in ecstasy", celebrating the 894th goal scored by Rashist in the NHL, which allowed him to repeat the record of the unfortunate Canadian, which will now, apparently, fall this season.
"Hockey is a beautiful and perhaps the best game in the world. But, like any sport, it is not outside of politics. And hockey has enough of its scum and rats, which we should remember, despising their position and reminding the whole world that a great athlete does not necessarily have to be a great and outstanding person," the sports commentator added.
