"China will gain greater access to Europe directly, bypassing the Arctic and Ukraine": the NSDC commented on the construction of a port in Georgia

The Georgian government is increasingly integrating into the Chinese model of governance. In particular, the country has handed over the construction of the strategic Ankalia port to Chinese companies, excluding the United States from the project.

This was written by Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, noting that China wants to advance NATO in the Black Sea.

He pointed out that Beijing is investing hundreds of millions of dollars in the construction of the port and is receiving almost half of the shares.

" This is not just infrastructure - it is a geopolitical lever. Just 30 km away is the Russian military base in Ochamchir.

Ankalia is not an isolated case. China is already present in Poti, visiting Batumi, promoting projects in Armenia and controlling the logistics of Abkhazia. The Georgian government is increasingly integrating into the Chinese model of governance, with Huawei in infrastructure, with "anti-foreign" laws and more ," Kovalenko wrote.

He noted that Xi Jinping's strategy is to oust NATO from the eastern Black Sea, build an alternative route to Europe without the participation of Russia and Turkey, and expand the PRC's military-logistical network under the guise of civilian facilities.

" Chinese expansion in the Black Sea direction is a signal to the Alliance: Beijing is no longer only in the Pacific Ocean. When the Ankalia port becomes fully operational, China will gain greater access to Europe directly, bypassing the Arctic and Ukraine ," Kovalenko emphasized.

As Apostrophe reported, the current US leadership is acting without taking into account global long-term factors and benefits, while China has advanced further in achieving its strategic goals than in the previous 20 years.
