A Russian court has sent comedian Artemy Ostanin to pre-trial detention for a month and 27 days - until May 15.
This is reported by Russian media.
The comedian's lawyer said that a forensic examination revealed a fractured spine.
"Yesterday, during the interrogation as an accused, as a suspect, we filed a motion. A statement of committing a crime was filed, because my client was beaten during detention, I would say so. He was indeed taken for a forensic medical examination. Now he explained to me that he had read these results and that he has a fractured spine," the lawyer said.
As a reminder, a Russian stand-up comedian, who recently found himself in the spotlight for his joke about the Russian occupier and who was charged with inciting hatred on March 16, was detained while trying to leave the Russian Federation. He was eventually handed over to Russian security forces with a meat grinder around his neck and no dreadlocks.
