In Thailand, 40-year-old rapper Pasha Tekhnik (real name Pavel Ivlev) died in a hospital where he had been since the end of March.
The death was announced on his Telegram channel. The rapper's ex-wife, Eva Karytska, also announced the news.
Since the end of March, he has been in a hospital in Phuket, where doctors were forced to put him in an induced coma. According to his manager, Pasha Tekhnik was probably poisoned either by something dangerous or by another dose. The "Survivors" project, which raised funds for the musician's treatment, reported that the rapper's condition was critical, and transportation to Russia was impossible - the risk was too great.
On the evening of April 4, Pasha's condition deteriorated sharply, and doctors tried to resuscitate him. There was talk that he would soon be taken off life support and officially declared dead. Almost immediately after that, the musician's ex-wife confirmed that Pasha Tekhnik had died.
He was a landmark figure in the Russian underground scene. He began his career in the late 90s as part of the band Kunteynir, which was famous for its stage provocations, which were arranged "to make people angry." The rapper is known for his outrageous behavior and deliberately provocative work with a lot of obscene language. He is often called one of the most significant rappers in the Russian hip-hop underground.
The musician also engaged in wrestling. In 2019, he wrestled in an independent wrestling federation wrestling match.
In 2008, Pasha Tekhnyk was imprisoned on drug charges. After being released five years later, he continued to use drugs. In 2021, the rapper again entered a rehabilitation center, where he spent two months. And in October 2022, after another overdose, he fell into a coma, then regained consciousness.
In the summer of 2023, a Moscow court sentenced him to 13 days in prison for having a tattoo with Nazi symbols.
