European gas prices hit new all-time high above $1000 per 1000 cubic meters

In Europe, oil and gas prices are breaking new records. This was reported by the Russian news agency Vesti.

Thus, the oil prices in Europe exceeded their maximum since October 2018 and reached $800 per 1,000 cubic meters, according to the data of the London Intercontinental Exchange (ICE).

the price of the European brand Brent for the nearest contracts exceeded $80 per barrel.

Currently, European oil Brent costs about $80.5, which indicates that it has become more expensive by about 1%. As for the American WTI, it also rose in price by 1%, reaching $76.32 per barrel, which corresponds to the record prices of 2018.

In addition, European gas prices are also hitting new records. On the European stock exchange, the cost of the October futures reached the historical maximum of $1,000 per 1000 cubic meters.

Before the upcoming heating season in Europe, EU gas reserves were semi-empty. The deficit is associated with many factors, one of which is the significantly increased demand for gas and, consequently, electrify.

Certain EU countries explicitly accuse the Russian Federation of manipulating Europe's gas prices.
