Since the beginning of the war, three assassination attempts have been made against Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has experienced at least three assassination attempts since the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the Times reports.

According to journalists, two groups have been sent to kill the Ukrainian president — mercenaries of the Kremlin-backed Wagner group and Chechen special forces. Both have been thwarted by anti-war elements within Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB).

At the same time, resistance to sending killers was found inside Russia - in particular, the FSB opposed it.

Journalists claim Wagner mercenaries in Kyiv have sustained losses during their attempts and are said to have been alarmed by how accurately the Ukrainians had anticipated their moves. A source close to the group said it was “eerie” how well-briefed Zelensky’s security team appeared to be.

Earlier, servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a group of Ramzan Kadyrov (head of Chcecnia special forces), the purpose of which was to eliminate Zelensky.

As Apostrophe reported, a Russian mercenary from the private military company Wagner was previously detained in Ukraine. During interrogations, he admitted that in addition to Ukraine, he also has fought in Syria, claiming he killed even civilian women and children.
