The U.S. missile destroyer entered the Black Sea

On Friday, June 11, the U.S. Navy missile destroyer Labun began its northbound transit intothe Black Sea to conduct an operation "maritime security in the region".

This was reported on by the Sixth Fleet of the U.S. Navy on its official Twitter page.

According to the message, the U.S. Navy regularly works with NATO allies and partners in the Black Sea, but it was not specified with whom exactly the operation will be carried out.

The Arleigh Burke-class Lamb destroyer was was commissioned in 1991. It has two Igis launchers in service, which allow for up to 56 Tomahawk cruise missiles equipped with nuclear warheads.

It is reported that the SH-60 Sea Hawk helicopter is also placed on board. The crew consists of 337 people.
