The evasive man tried to "buy" himself a third child

In Kharkiv, a 31-year-old resident of Lviv, in order to avoid being drafted into the army, tried to register a newborn child for money.

This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

According to the investigation, in the fall of 2024, a 61-year-old resident of Lviv turned to her friend, who works as a midwife in Kharkiv, for “help.” She said that her 31-year-old son had two children, was of draft age, was subject to mobilization, and had no legal grounds for receiving a deferment from conscription. She asked the woman to “save” him from the army.

The doctor found a pregnant woman and, for a monetary reward, offered to list her friend's son as the father on the child's birth certificate after the birth, supposedly because this was his third child.

"In December 2024, a Lviv resident arrived in Kharkiv and met with the mother of her future "grandson". She gave the woman $400 as part of the reward for her "help". She also assured the pregnant woman that she would transfer money every month until the child was three years old. At the end of December, a Lviv resident made another transfer in the amount of UAH 4,200 so that the pregnant woman would not refuse to "beget a child", the press service said.

At the end of February 2025, the woman gave birth to a boy. The Lviv woman traveled to Kharkiv on her own with a notarized statement from her son acknowledging paternity and a power of attorney. She submitted the necessary documents to one of the ASNs in Kharkiv, where she was detained by law enforcement officers.

We will remind you that earlier, employees of the State Bureau of Investigation reported suspicions to the head of the Khmelnytskyi district administration, who , for a fee, helped men liable for military service avoid mobilization.
