On Thursday, March 20, the Russian occupiers dropped 31 KABs on Kupyansk — on residential buildings and administrative buildings. The center is now almost destroyed, and victims are being pulled out from under the rubble.
This was reported by the head of the police investigation department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, Serhiy Bolvinov .
According to him, the city is now in ruins.
"The first wave, four aerial bombs, was the day before at around three o'clock. And a few hours later, a new bombing, the enemy dropped another 27 aerial bombs after nine. Two people were killed, four were wounded. All of them were civilians, locals," says Bolvinov.
The law enforcement officer adds that the victims are being pulled out from under the rubble.
"An 84-year-old woman was found under the rubble, she died in her own home. Another victim as of now is a 51-year-old man, he was also at home during the attack. In addition to aerial bombs, the enemy also used artillery and drones. The main thing now is to help people. Therefore, police investigators and operatives are not only recording the consequences of a war crime and collecting evidence. Together with rescuers, we continue to search for people, we are clearing the rubble. The wounded were taken to the hospital," says Bolvinov.
There is currently no water or electricity in the city, and the Russian military has destroyed the electrical substation.
"I appeal to the people - the police are on the scene, ready to evacuate the locals. Our employees are transporting everyone who is ready to escape to safer places. Do not neglect this opportunity. The enemy does not stop, the shelling is very brutal - leave to save your lives," the law enforcement officer urged.
As a reminder, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, spoke about the failure of operations and the disruption of the plans of the Russian occupation army in the Kharkiv region.
