In one of the restaurants in Kyiv, a Ukrainian paid for an order from a company of French journalists as a token of gratitude for the pro-Ukrainian position of France and its President Emmanuel Macron.
French journalist and documentary film producer Stephane Siohan wrote about this on Facebook.
" Last week I was at a restaurant in Kyiv with my French journalist colleagues. At the very beginning, a man approached us and said that he was a "Macron fan" and that he "thanked France" for what it was doing now... A little surprised, we politely thanked him for his kind words. And that was it. Two hours later, we wanted to pay the bill for six people. A waiter comes up and tells us: "The customer who was sitting two tables away from you has already paid for you, and told us that this is a thank you to Emmanuel Macron ," the journalist said.
" Since then, I have been very interested in this issue, and, observing other various signs of this attitude towards Macron around me, I would like to ask: how is our president perceived in Ukraine? Since I have lived in Ukraine for too long, I do not have the necessary distance. I am thinking... Will his face ever be on a Monobank credit card, like the former Prime Minister of Great Britain?) This is serious, this is for the article: any of you who want to explain to me what Macron looks like to you, in the current context of 2025 , "- wrote Stefan.
In the comments, Ukrainians mostly spoke favorably about Macron.
As Apostrophe reported, Macron is considering the possibility of creating a mission under the auspices of the UN , as an alternative to sending European troops to Ukraine, which could prevent a new Russian attack on Ukraine in the event of a peace agreement.
