A number of unique nuances were highlighted in the successful Ukrainian special operation with a strike on the Engels airfield

Ukrainian military journalist and founder of the InformNapalm community Roman Burko identified some nuances related to Ukraine's successful special operation with a strike on the Engels airfield .

Burko wrote about this on his Facebook page.

In particular, after the reports from British intelligence, the community noticed that:

  • The strike on Engels airfield on the night of March 19-20 was Ukraine's most successful strike this year. Despite the fact that Engels is one of the most important Russian strategic airfields, the air defense was unable to adequately protect it.
  • The strike hit an air-launched ammunition storage site, causing significant damage. The damage is likely to temporarily hamper the operation of the airfield, forcing Russia to beef up its defenses and replenish ammunition supplies.
  • Russian aircraft were most likely dispersed to the nearest airfields. Engels airfield is located 600 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

In addition, says Burko, the international intelligence community InformNapalm notes that British intelligence did not indicate this because they probably do not have this data. However, there is another important part of this successful operation, unique to this war.

"We know for sure that the success of this operation, in addition to the skill of the drone operators in carrying out the direct strike component, was also due to the painstaking work of Ukrainian hackers, who provided very detailed intelligence data on the ammunition storage base at the Engels airfield. And no other intelligence means, neither satellite nor any other, could provide this information. Which makes this operation unique in terms of the level of combination and interaction of Ukrainian forces and means," the journalist claims.

But he suggests that after the war ends with Ukraine's victory, this unique experience can be revealed. However, for now, in conditions where the US has ceased to be a reliable ally in providing intelligence on Russian strategic objects, Ukrainian specialists are demonstrating wonders of ingenuity that would be envied by the intelligence services of NATO countries.

As is known, on March 20, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that the Defense Forces struck the Engels airfield at night. A powerful fire broke out and ammunition stored there detonated.

As Apostrophe reported, the Ukrainian Long Neptune missile could have hit the Engels airfield in the Saratov region.
