Law enforcement officers have prevented another terrorist attack by Russian military intelligence in Lviv. They detained two enemy agents who were planning to blow up the administrative building of the local regional police department.
This was reported by the press service of the "SBU".
To commit the crime, the suspects were supposed to bring a homemade explosive device hidden in a package into a government institution. It was then that Russian special services planned to remotely detonate the explosives together with their agents.
"One of the executors of the Russian order is a 22-year-old resident of Kyiv, who was looking for easy money on Telegram channels. She was recruited by an employee of the Russian GRU and given a "test" task - to post leaflets with fake Russian propaganda in the capital. Later, the agent was sent to Lviv to prepare a terrorist attack against Ukrainian law enforcement officers. She involved her acquaintance from Kyiv in committing the crime," the report says.
After arriving in the city, the attackers received the coordinates of the cache from the curator, from which they took an SVP disguised as a fire extinguisher.
They also planned to install a hidden video camera near the target with remote access for the occupiers, which was supposed to record the movements of the agents and the consequences of the terrorist attack.
"The "SBU" counterintelligence exposed both agents in advance, documented their crimes, and detained them red-handed as they approached the police unit with explosives. Security Service investigators informed the detainees of suspicion of treason," the "SBU" added.
Let us remind you that the other day the "SBU" detained a Russian agent couple who were preparing a double terrorist attack near the Trade Center in Ternopil.
