Since the beginning of 2025, the advance of the Russian occupiers on the front in Ukraine has slowed down, and the number of attacks has decreased.
This was reported in a report by the UK Ministry of Defense Intelligence on the social network X.
As noted, Russia's territorial gains in Ukraine decreased during the first quarter of this year. During March, the Russian army most likely captured 143 sq. km of Ukrainian territory, which is an average of no more than 5 sq. km per day.
The British department records a decrease in the pace of advance of Russian troops every month, starting from November 2024. Then Russia captured about 700 sq. km.
The report notes that most of the Russian army's advances in March fell on the central part of the Donetsk region, but the Russians failed to improve their operational positions.
The Ukrainian military also conducted tactical counterattacks, which nullified some of the occupiers' achievements near Pokrovsk.
Also, for most of March, the level of ground attacks by Russia in a number of directions decreased.
"At the end of the month, they began to grow, but did not cause an increase in the pace of advancement," the intelligence agency added.
Let us remind you that, according to DeepState, the most difficult areas of the front currently remain Kursk, Pokrovsky, and Lymansky . Speaking of Lymansky, there is an advance of Russian troops there.
