Ukrainian soldiers captured two Chinese citizens who were fighting in the Russian army. This happened in Ukraine - in the Donetsk region.
This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskуy.
According to the head of state, there are documents of these prisoners, bank cards, and personal data.
"We have information that there are significantly more than two such Chinese citizens in the occupier's units. We are now clarifying all the facts. Intelligence, the SBU, and relevant units of the Armed Forces are working. I have instructed the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to immediately contact Beijing and find out how China is going to react to this," the president said.
And he added that by engaging in the war in this way, Russian dictator Putin is eloquently saying that he is not going to stop it.
"Russia's involvement, directly or indirectly, of China in this war in Europe is a clear signal that Putin is going to do anything but end the war. He is looking for ways to continue fighting. This definitely requires a reaction. A reaction from the United States, Europe, and everyone in the world who wants peace. The captured Chinese citizens are in the Security Service of Ukraine," Zelenskyy noted.
Relevant investigative and operational actions are now underway.
