The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has called on Western countries to increase assistance, as three years of full-scale war have exhausted almost the entire resource of missiles for the Soviet anti-aircraft missile forces. Now the military is counting on the supply of Western systems.
This was reported by Yuriy Ignat, spokesman for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on Facebook.
He noted that during this time, Russia has launched 67 thousand guided bombs, thousands of missiles of various types, and 22.4 thousand "Shahed" strike drones over the territory of Ukraine.
Daily anti-aircraft battles virtually depleted the missile resources of Soviet equipment.
"Now our soldiers primarily rely on the support of partners, in the context of continued supplies of Western systems, and most importantly, missiles for them, to strengthen Ukrainian air defense. The enemy continues to terrorize the Ukrainian people with air strikes and we need more protection for our country, for our cities and our children! We need more protection for the stability of Europe and the entire civilized world!", - Ignat reported.
He noted that the Ukrainian military has proven that they can quickly master Patriot, F-16, Nasams and other technological weapons, and most importantly, effectively use them against the "second army" of the world.
Ignat provided impressive statistics on the downing of air targets, starting from February 24, 2022:
- over 2.49 thousand cruise missiles;
- 465 guided aircraft missiles;
- 97 ballistic missiles;
- 40 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles;
- 17.57 thousand "Shahed" type strike drones.
Most of the downed targets on the list were due to the arrival of modern anti-aircraft missile systems and missiles from partners.
"Today is another meeting in Brussels in the Ramstein format. We thank the allies for the assistance provided and expect good news!" , - Ignat emphasized.
As "Apostrophe" wrote, representatives of Western countries gathered in Brussels for a meeting of the Contact Group on Defense Issues in Ukraine in the "Ramstein" format. During the event, they announced the provision of military support to Kyiv in the amount of over 21 billion euros.
