"I expected a stupid post-Soviet military with humiliation and insanity": the mobilized journalist was surprised by the first month

Journalist, founder of the online resource NewsRoom, former advisor to the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, and owner of a pizzeria in Kharkiv, Pavlo Fedosenko, was amazed at how his month of basic military training went. After all, the recently mobilized journalist expected to see "post-Soviet military."

Fedosenko shared his impressions on his Facebook page.

The journalist immediately said that he expected much worse in the army.

"Well, a month of BZVP is behind us. In short: I expected much worse. Yes, there are certain delays, there are organizational nuances - well, because it's the army. But overall - absolutely nothing terrible. The conditions are decent. The attitude is adequate. I was generally sure that with my character I would be on the verge of collapse in a couple of weeks, because I do not tolerate violence against myself and respond to it in a mirror way," Fedosenko said.

He also added that the sergeants really want to train soldiers and pass on combat experience.

"And now a month has passed - and everything is fine. The sergeants really want to teach us something and pass on their combat experience (and everyone has it). The unit leadership asks for feedback and tries to meet it. In short, I expected a stupid post-Soviet military with humiliation and insanity - and therefore now I feel cautious optimism. I continue to observe," Fedosenko noted.

Let us remind you that Pavlo Fedosenko was mobilized on March 11, 2025.
