Ukrainian journalist Yuriy Butusov was pleasantly surprised by the way Ukrainian athletes, in particular boxer Oleksandr Usyk, were praised in temporarily occupied Donetsk. This led to a scuffle.
Butusov reported this in his Telegram channel and.
"Usyk shot, publicly humiliated, showed hatred for the residents of Donbas. And in this cafe - cocktails in his honor. And after all, ordinary people first came to the owner, and he sent them away. How many more such fifth columnists do we have in Russia?!" Donetsk is pleasantly surprising: in the 4th year of a full-scale war, one of the city's institutions honors and praises world-famous Ukrainian athletes. What can you do - Russian exiles are not allowed to participate in prestigious competitions, so you have to cheer in the ring for Oleksandr Usyk, whose portraits and even a cocktail with his name adorn the Donetsk restaurant," the journalist writes.
He also adds that after a local informant's denunciation, Usyk "had to fight" a whole squad of special forces with assault rifles, in helmets and bulletproof vests.
"The victory was not easy, but the owner was forced to apologize and tear down the poster," Butusov noted.
We will remind, on July 12, Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk will fight with British boxer Daniel Dubois .
