Ukrainian writer offers radical appeal to Putin

Ukrainian writer Andriy Kokotyukha decided to share a radical way to address Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

The author published his version on his Facebook page.

In the publication, Kokotyukh draws parallels between the 1996 film "Ransom" starring Mel Gibson and the current behavior of the Kremlin dictator.

The writer recalls the plot of the film:

"It's about the behavioral patterns that mass culture provides. In the 1990s, there was the movie "Ransom" with Mel Gibson. According to the plot, he's a millionaire and his son was stolen. They demand a ransom, threaten to kill the child. The police chew snot. And then Gibson's character behaves unconventionally. He goes on live TV and declares: you bastard, you son of a bitch, if you want to kill - kill him, you son of a bitch. And I'm offering a million reward for your head. And they'll find you, you son of a bitch. The ground will burn under you, you bastard."

This twist breaks the fear scenario and puts the kidnapper in a dead end: "That's why he brings the little one back, stressed, but alive. Then they still scolded the kidnapper, it's a movie."

The writer believes that a similar approach can be applied to Putin's nuclear blackmail.

"Putin is a ******** with his scarecrows. Just a little bit - I'll drop a bomb on all of you, a nuclear one. Especially on Ukraine. Is there a possible option: a public statement in the format of "if you've already done a ********, I'll drop it, I won't kill more than I've killed, you still won't kill, you kill every day". Drop your bomb, you ********. Do you sneeze when it's scary?".

According to Kokotyukha, a public and sharp response to Russia's constant threats could be a new informational blow. Finally, he concludes:

"I think he won't quit. Not today, not tomorrow. He'll start babbling. And this will really show: everything is stupid - it's a bomb. Maybe they'll stop being afraid of him..."

Recall that earlier, US leader Donald Trump, speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, said that the United States is expecting a response from Russian dictator Vladimir Putin regarding a proposal for a ceasefire in Ukraine by the end of this week.
