Is it true that the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a new offensive near Tyotkino in the Kursk region - what details are known?

The Russians have stated that Ukrainian troops have allegedly launched an offensive in Kursk. And the Armed Forces of Ukraine are allegedly attacking with 250 troops, 15 pieces of equipment, and ATVs.

Is this true? The BBC has collected the data.

In particular, Russian pro-war Telegram channels are writing about a new offensive by Ukrainian military in the area of the village of Tyotkino in the Kursk region, located on the border with the Sumy region of Ukraine.

"About 50 Ukrainian army servicemen went on a breakthrough in the Kursk region," the report says.

Meanwhile, several pro-war bloggers claim that the first attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to advance were repulsed. And supposedly, destroyed demining vehicles that tried to make passages through minefields are burning near the border.

At the same time, some Russian "military sources" write that the Armed Forces of Ukraine allegedly "blew up the bridge over the Sejm near the village of Zvane." This settlement is not located directly near the Russian-Ukrainian border, but approximately ten kilometers from it, in the Glushkovsky district of the Kursk region.

"Demining vehicles are trying to make passages in the minefields in order to send armored vehicles with landing troops after them again," the bloggers note.

However, the Russian authorities and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have not yet commented on the data about the new attack by Ukrainian military in Kursk.

However, one of the Ukrainian military channels - the unofficial Telegram channel of the 46th Airmobile Brigade - writes:

"Kursk direction. Tyotkino. The Russians are being shown that the game of "creating a buffer zone" can be played by two people."

The Ukrainian OSINT project DeepState also briefly confirms the data about the new offensive: on its map, some areas of the Kursk region on the border with Ukraine in the Ttkino area are marked as a "gray zone."

At the same time, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Andriy Kovalenko, made his remarks.

"The enemy, who is accumulating forces on its territory to break through to the border areas of Ukrainian regions, has been and is being destroyed by fire. These have always been security measures to prevent aggressive actions by the enemy in the border areas," the official said.

As "Apostrophe" wrote, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky noted that the Kursk operation has been going on for nine months and has achieved most of the goals set.
