Sports, Education, and IT: Favbet Foundation and Andrii Matiukha Launch the "Superheroes Club" for Ukrainian Children
company news
The Favbet Foundation, under the leadership of Andrii Matiukha, has launched the "Superheroes Club" project in Ukraine, aimed at supporting the development of Ukrainian children impacted by the ongoing war. The initiative focuses on three key areas: sports training, educational support, and IT education. This was announced by the Favbet Foundation's press service.
The Foundation is implementing several initiatives to support children's sports development. For example, through the "Stronger Together" program, children from military and internally displaced families receive free access to sports activities. With the Favbet Foundation’s support, the "Sport for All" Center in Kyiv offers football and basketball sections, while SpartaBox provides martial arts training in boxing, freestyle wrestling, and combat sambo. Andrii Matiukha emphasized:"Systematic support for children affected by the war is extremely important. In this context, sports serve not only as a means of physical development but also as a way to promote psychological stability"
Another Foundation initiative supports the schooling of children from military and displaced families. Through its educational project "Strength in Knowledge," the Favbet Foundation annually distributes large school supply kits to internally displaced and military children before the start of the new school year. In 2024, over 5,500 children received:
- notebooks and pens;
- paints, pencils, and markers;
- other essential school supplies for learning and creativity.
"These kits are primarily intended for younger schoolchildren. The kits were distributed across all regions of Ukraine. The initiative aims to ensure an equal starting point for children, regardless of their life circumstances ", the Favbet Foundation press service noted.
A particular focus of the Foundation's work is the IT Kids project, which introduces younger schoolchildren to digital literacy. The project is implemented jointly with Code Club Ukraine. Currently, over 300 participants are enrolled in basic Python programming courses, including 156 children from military and displaced families. Additionally, a new Scratch programming course is engaging more than 600 children across 10 Ukrainian cities. The Favbet Foundation states that the Scratch program is divided into three levels: beginner, basic, and advanced. Classes are held once a week and last for 40 minutes. The project covers cities such as Lviv, Dnipro, Odesa, Poltava, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kryvyi Rih, Kropyvnytskyi, Cherkasy, and government-controlled areas of the Donetsk region. The main goals of this initiative are:
to build digital literacy;
to develop logical thinking;
to prepare children for technical careers.
How to Join the "Superheroes Club"
The program is always open to new participants; however, places fill up quickly due to high demand. Priority is given to children from military and displaced families, and participation is always free of charge. Parents can register their children for available sections or study groups by monitoring the Favbet Foundation’s Facebook page for updates and responding promptly to announcements.
During this time when Ukraine is fighting for its survival amid a full-scale Russian invasion, it is crucial to have individuals who take on social, educational, and sports initiatives for children and youth. The Favbet Foundation press service added, "As the head of the Favbet Foundation, Andrii Matiukha oversees a wide range of social initiatives in education, healthcare, humanitarian aid, and youth sports development. His approach focuses on systematically building infrastructure to support children growing up in difficult conditions. He creates opportunities for children to access practical tools for learning, development, and adaptation to the modern world"
