The educational project “Know Your Ukraine” is reviving the authentic holiday of Ivan Kupala. To do this, on June 5, the team will hold a practical webinar “Kupala: How to Organize a Holiday for Youth.”

This was announced by the patron and co-founder of the project Gnat Korobko.

“The webinar will discuss how the folk holiday was purposefully changed in Soviet times, and what of these transformations we still carry forward. How to turn spectators into active participants in the rite and return the holiday to its true meaning. Participants will also learn about the meaning of the main attributes of the holiday — Marena, Kupala, wreaths and the Kupala tree,” — said Gnat Korobko.

He noted that the online event is aimed at educators, cultural managers, camp organizers and everyone who works with children and youth.

“We want Ukrainian heritage to become a real cultural trend that captivates young people and children. When teenagers become not just passive spectators, but active participants in the ceremony — learning authentic singing, music, and traditional dances — they naturally feel a connection with their own culture and history,” — the philanthropist noted.

Participation in the webinar is free of charge upon prior registration. The speakers of the event — ethnologist Yaroslava Muzychenko and folklorist Myroslava Vertyuk.
