Teachers, together with the project “Know Your Ukraine”, will integrateUkrainian folk games into the educational program. This was reported by the patron and co-author of the project Gnat Korobko in a comment to “Apostrophe” after a webinar for educators from all over the country.

“The webinar “Spring Folk Games in Ukrainian Schools”, organized by the project “Know Your Ukraine”, aroused considerable interest among educators and collected about a thousand registrations in just two days. The authors of webinar discussed with educators the possibilities of using Ukrainian folk games in a modern educational environment. In conditions when a significant part of education and children's communication is moving into a digital format, through singing, movement and play, children naturally learn to interact, cooperate and spend time together. Therefore, it is important to return folk games to the modern educational space,” – said Gnat Korobko.

According to him, during the webinar, teachers learned about the origin of spring traditional games and how they can be integrated into the educational process.

“During the webinar, participants learned about the origin of spring games and their role in traditional culture. Special attention was paid to how traditional games can be integrated into the educational process - during school breaks, physical education lessons, in the program of school events, clubs and children's camps,” – said Gnat Korobko.

In the practical part of the webinar, participants analyzed several traditional spring games and discussed how to adapt them for working with children. All participants also received ready-made materials for use in their work: a selection of folk games, as well as a guide with tips on implementing traditional games in a modern school.

As a reminder, “Know Your Ukraine” is an educational project about traditional Ukrainian culture, which, in partnership with charitable and cultural institutions and with the support of philanthropist Gnat Korobka, creates training courses, lessons, and practical materials for educators and a wide audience.
