IKEA decides to reopen its business in Ukraine

IKEA's head office has decided to return to Ukraine.

This was reported by Forbes Ukraine, citing its sources.

According to the publication's sources, the decision to resume business was made by IKEA's Swedish management in May.

"The return and success of H&M was an important signal for IKEA's head office, and they also closely followed the reopening of Inditex," said a source at the international development company, who agreed to speak to Forbes Ukraine on condition of anonymity.

As a reminder, in October 2023, it was reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was working to bring IKEA, H&M and Zara and other brands back to Ukraine. On April 3, the Spanish fashion group Inditex (brands Zara, Bershka, Pull&Bear) reopened the first 20 stores of its brands in Ukraine. The company's return increased footfall in Kyiv shopping malls by 20%.
